Good news for youngsters who wish to temporarily live and work in Australia. Just recently, both countries signed an agreement of work and holiday visas. Up to 200 Vietnamese nationals can be granted a work and holiday visa. This will allow young Vietnamese people to work and experience Australia, same through with young Australians who wish to work in Vietnam.
‘Our two countries have a strong and positive relationship and this arrangement will further foster people to people links between the two countries,’ said Immigration Minister Peter Dutton. According to him, the arrangement will only allow young people aged 18 to 30.
Michaelia Cash, Assistant Minister for Immigration said that over the coming months, both countries will work together in this agreement to have a headstart of implementing the legality and administrative processes so applicants can eventually apply as soon as possible. She also said that this will be a great opportunity for two countries to experience each cultures and strengthening the ties as well.
Australia have the same agreements with different countries and Vietnam is the newest and 6th Asian country to have a work and holiday visa arrangement.
The Work and Holiday visa is not the same with the Working Holiday visa as it needs applicants to provide proof and have a support from their government or have a qualifications to work in Australia.
