IELTS Validity is 2 Years

IELTS like any other international certificates like TOEIC and TOEFL is valid for 2 years. You will have to retake the IELTS test if you want to extend the expiration date. Your score will depend on your latest examination results. In the meantime, you can use it as a basis for your resume or apply to study in countries approved by IELTS such us Australia, Canada and New Zealand.

Reason behind IELTS expiry date

Scores are used to measure a test taker’s English proficiency at the time that a test is administered. Because English-language skills may improve or decline over time, a score report will not be re-issued if two years have passed since taking the test. Cambridge does not require testing centers to retain test administration data beyond two years.
